When she turned her back to him with her request, it took him a moment to understand what she wanted of him. After what seemed like several moments of blank staring and frequent blinking, it seemed to click into place and he helped to undo the lacing. Maybe it wasn't all that complicated, but to him it seemed like navigating a labyrinth.
