The sound of the knocking reached his ear, entered his brain, and rattled around a bit before finally triggering a response. Rabastan sucked in a breath, and started a bit. There was a pause, as though he wasn't sure if what he had heard was real, or not. He got to his feet and made his way to the front door.

The door made a small creak as he opened it enough to see who it was.

"Narcissa! You came," he said, stating the obvious, and opening the door the rest of the way to allow her to enter. "I wasn't sure if the owl made it, or if it had chosen to spite me. Ha..."
